Lisa Prefontaine possesses a Master’s degree in Community Counselling from the University of Rochester, USA. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counsellor, working in the Mental Health field for over 18 years. Lisa worked for 13 years at a Behavioural Health Agency in the US, the last 5 years as Clinical Director of Mental Health Services, Lisa is currently in full-time private practice. She does individual therapy with adolescents and adults, as well as consultation for private practitioners and EMDR trained therapists. Lisa is currently an adjunct professor at Medaille’s and University of Buffalo’s Mental Health Counselling Graduate programs. Lisa is passionate about personal and professional development as a whole, along with advocating for destigmatizing behavioural health issues within our community. Lisa uses her advanced training in specialty topics to promote creativity, inspiration, and knowledge within the therapist community.
