This course is designed to help early childhood educators, preschool teachers and parents understand how to effectively support their child’s transition from early literacy and numeracy skills to elementary school.
You will learn to:
• Identify early signs of literacy and numeracy development and recognize “red flags” that may indicate the need for additional support.
• Apply practical strategies to support their child’s transition from early literacy and numeracy skills to the elementary school curriculum.
• Understand the structure of elementary school English and Math curricula, and how these build upon early skills.
• Implement activities and interventions that reinforce early literacy and numeracy skills, helping to ensure a smooth transition into formal schooling.
Through practical strategies and expert insights, you’ll gain the confidence to foster your child’s academic growth and ensure a smooth, positive transition into elementary education.
